Questions I'm often asked
What is Life Coaching?
Life Coaching shifts awareness and gets to the root of whatever it is in your life that you want to change. By listening, questioning and reflecting back to you, I help you understand where you are now, where you want to be… and how to get there.
I help you uncover what will motivate you to achieve each of your goals. Together we formulate an action plan to achieve them; and follow up sessions keep you on track and motivated.
Coaching gives you the tools for creating and manifesting what you want, and puts you back in charge of your life.

How will Life Coaching help me?
Together we explore your inner dialogue and limiting beliefs in order for you to let go of defences and habits that are no longer serving you. We work with your relationship with yourself as it impacts every aspect of your life. You will experience a shift in consciousness and perspective. As you begin to see the bigger picture, a new sense of meaning, a deeper sense of purpose and a fresh, integrated way of being will emerge. You will feel inspired to change. During this process, you will discover gifts and resources you never knew you had.
What is the Enneagram?
We all yearn to know who we are, and why we do what we do. The Enneagram is a diagnostic and developmental tool described beautifully by the esteemed author and lecturer on the Enneagram, Beatrice Chestnut:
“The Enneagram system of personality types situated around the Enneagram symbol offers profound insights into the way people feel, think and behave. It lays out nine distinct personality types and the patterns and habits that characterise them. Its great power lies in the accuracy and depth of the personality descriptions and the transformational path it offers those who wish to grow to reach their fullest potential… we humans are all limited to the extent that we are trapped in invisible automatic patterns that we don’t see. We all take on specific coping strategies early in life to get along with others and get what we need, and these early strategies for dealing with the world around us become fixed and rigid patterns that can be hard to change because they are old, familiar and comfortable… in short, it helps us to wake up to our unconscious (and thus automatic and invisible) repetitive patterns that direct our beliefs, our emotions, and our behavior so that we can live life more fully and have a more satisfying experience of everything.”
What is your background?
I graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989. In November 2006 I qualified as a Journey Therapist with Brandon Bays and went on to complete a diploma in Life Coaching through the Life Coaching Institute (UK) in November 2011. The Enneagram has always inspired and fascinated me, and in September 2016 I received my certification in the Enneagram through the Integrative Enneagram Accreditation Program.
I attend ongoing training to broaden and deepen my knowledge and skills, and am in fact currently completing Master Coach training which is to be certified by IMCSA, one of only two SA certification organisations. In addition, I am in constant coaching supervision to ensure that I provide the best possible service to my clients. I have been on my own personal journey towards wholeness for the past thirty years, exploring Transpersonal Therapy, Meditation, Imago Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Astrology, and the technique of Breathwork, amongst others.
I never stop learning, growing, and exploring all aspects of my own self-growth as I believe this is a fundamental part of being a great coach. I draw from a range of different modalities when working with a client and adapt my approach to suit each individual.
Who do you work with?
The clients who come to me for Life Coaching are adults and teenagers who are feeling stuck and want to change or shift something in their lives. My work with teenagers is often around self- esteem, relationships and in many cases their relationship with themselves. Teenagers need a safe place to process what they are thinking and feeling, as well as tools to empower them and help them navigate a confusing and sometimes overwhelming time.
My adult clients may be questioning and re-evaluating their lives, looking for a sense of meaning, and a greater understanding of who they are and what they want. Often my clients find themselves on track with what they originally thought would make them happy, only to find that it does not bring them the fulfilment that they expected. Perhaps they are looking for inspiration and motivation to change an unhealthy lifestyle, or they may want to change their way of being in relationships to ensure that they do not repeat patterns and mistakes from the past. Sometimes my clients feel a sense of emptiness and long for a greater sense of purpose. What is needed is a space to explore their values and dreams, and to process and integrate experiences in order to clarify what they want to change and how they want to feel.
